You Were Born Perfect

by admin on March 16, 2010

There is a blueprint swirled into your DNA of who you were born to be and who you have the potential to become. When you are in alignment with this perfection it is unmistakeable – these are the moments that you feel like everything is as it should be in the world.

We’ve all had these moments. For most people these are the kinds experiences they yearn to have all the time. But what if…instead of yearning, all you needed to do was simply begin to prefer yourself…like this.

In fact, that’s exactly how it works. And the more you prefer being in your Default, the better you get at it.

Check out today’s video and find out how:

This is great. It makes all kinds of good sense. Everyone can recall their best days. This gives us even more reasons and way to have “best days” every day.

Unfortunately, it seems the video is out of alignment. It stops and starts … at first it was just fine.

This sounds to be a legitimate thought, as far as I could tell. Since I am a positive person, more or less, it seems to be a good way to be.

The vid stop/start problem : pause the vid and let it load before you play it, then it won’t keep pausing to load while you are viewing it.

Good work …. great ideas.. yet …
there is more to this.
Do you think you are your DNA.. is this really who you are ? Is the blueprint you refer to like a swirl in your DNA ?
or the actual fabric from which all is…. the ground of all…
me you the tree the bird the space between
from this the divine human blueprint emerges and is one with
yet anyway the individual you or me would do well to be in aligment
and not be driven by thoughts but by belly and heart as you seem to suggest. also it is not only therapists who perpertuate attachment to thought, but the culture and world cultures themselves. Allowing thoughs to be transparent is a truely liberating exercise.
Carry on ! enjoy ! great message.

Hi Eva,

Personally, I’m a model agnostic. I don’t believe anything and I’m open to everything that makes sense to me.

If I were to keep within the sciences I would at least expand the DNA metaphor to subatomic particles. As Howard Bloom once said to me, “what are all those protons using you for, Devon?”

Most often I consider people as frequencies. Eddies of energy in the vast ocean of all-that-is. But I like to keep my videos on the shorter side so I stick with a few images rather than all of them ; )

As for it not being just therapists that perpetuate attachment – we agree. Our entire culture is designed to dumb us down and stigmatize self-awareness. But we’re changing that even as we speak.

Thanks for taking the time to write.

I’m loving this!
As an ex-dancer I am totally getting how brilliant working through your body into your emotions rather than in the opposite direction is.
These blogs are a great help in finding the way back to perfection. This makes the most sense of all I’ve come across about “feeling it first”. Feeling in my body is so much more natural a way of coming into a state (any state) than attempting to create an emotion with thoughts.
This is so simple, but you are adding in an essential element that seems to have been forgotten till now.

Reply

admin March 17, 2010 at 7:20 am

But are you ever really an EX-dancer Mica ; )

I’ve never danced as anything more than a hobby but it’s truly my favorite hobby. I love the way dancing makes me feel. I love the way it keeps me deeply connected with my experience of the world.

As for creating emotions with thought – bah! Cognition evolved after the reptilian and limbic systems so it’s working backwards to try and build down from thoughts into emotion and form.

Everyone wants to be able to think their way out of things but really the way to ‘get’ any experience is to have the experience first – in your body.

Thanks for your comment Mica.

This is a great concept. But I feel, for me, that the self is not the one having the “good” or “bad” day and that those terms are simply judgments of what I perceive as to what is going on around me at that given moment. These perceptions can be changed, yes, and this “shift” in perception is a great step in that direction that everyone can use!
Thanks Devon!

Awesome vid and info Devon! Thanks bunches!
I sometimes have to have things explained in several ways, due to differencies in language. And since I am visual in understanding, this vid took me to the last missing link. And reminded me of something else obvious, I had forgotten. Thank you for the great sync in that. Now I am all set to go!
Much Gratitude across the Ocean for you!

re: ‘you were born perfect’, the stating of that concept goes back pretty far – the ancient Vedas describe such perfection as the original energy of the living entity – however rather than being ‘covered’ or conditioned just by more or less unconscious parents, it’s believed to be a karmic covering that passes through the lifetimes – anyway, learning to identify, uncover and live the perfection is certainly a universal task, and InnerGame does indeed appear to be a hi-tech and useful tool for resetting ourselves – thanks!

Hi loveCarol,

Certainly the idea that we are born perfectly is ancient. In fact I find many of the ideas I draw from were first written about in the Vedic texts. And those folks took it deep.

I remember after college one of my roommates from school got deeply into Buddhism. Every couple years we’d check in and talk shop. As he was more and more deeply versed in the esoteric texts and practices I was becoming increasingly skilled in my craft. And usually, much to my delight, we were both discovering similar things. Me through practicing and working with others, him through exposure to ever more secret scrolls of meditating lineages.

As for karma – while I am a model agnostic and don’t officially *believe* in karma – i operate as though I do. In fact, at this point, I’m quite convinced that many of the patterns we are born with are part of what I would call our own karmic frequency.

Stanislav Grof has done some fascinating research in this area, regressing people through the birth experience and finding the origins their major life themes. He found that without looking for it a significant number of people were going back beyond their time in utero and discovering patterns in what seemed to be other lives they had lived.

Personally, I like the idea that I can achieve continuity – even as an energetic pattern – to continue on through the threads of other lives and other me’s.

Glad you’re finding IIG useful.

yes, thanks from here, too. I’m reminded how, upon taking up the idea that it was necessary, I trained myself to smoke and believe I liked it for a few years. One day, in one moment, I saw/experienced the entire horror of it thru my body and STOPPED. Shifted to Default, and from that moment on was in a completely different, totally relaxed, clear state to observe and discover the lines of attachment, witness them dissolve as the Choice/commitment to Default had already been made – no struggle, no “trying”, nothing at all.
That point of ephiphany, I think, IS often reached thru crisis, the Tipping Point where”out of balance/ out of Default?” can not be sustained. There may be something to be said for going deeper into those “Out” states accelerating the momentum toward Shift – as you say, our perfect design is always working to return to its original form. A student of Rudolph Steiner created a wonderful book about the essential form of water (spherical) expressed in nature, demonstrating that movement in the forms of meander, wave, whirlpool; all these states referring back to the essential, core nature.
Thank you again for this expansion and exploration.

Hi Elaine,

Your smoking story is right on. That’s exactly the experience I have again and again with clients and students. In their Default people simply experience their life with clarity, depth and soft precision. They know what’s in and out of alignment.

To me the experience is that they suddenly and completely come back to themselves. Like this, they are one with (and therefore committed to) their own deepest truth. Now there is almost no choice but to maintain the integrity of that truth.

As for going deeper into those “out” states – what happens is that people need to go far enough ‘out’ that they realize they’re out. In the beginning that can be pretty far. Then as they get more familiar with the Default they become more sensitive to being ‘out’ of it.

After enough time they develope an extreme intolerance for being out of it. What that does is it makes any experience other than the Default feel like they’re way out – even if they’re just a smidge off. This works to keep them ‘in’ almost all of the time.

Thanks for the comment,

~D

did we miss something? somehow don’t remember noticing a mention of ‘dosage’ for using this – so, it’s nice to just be attracted to spending more time with it now and then – times of feeling open to adjusting more – btw, did you intend that the trippy Windows Media player ‘alchemy’ visualization of the program might enhance the experience, as it certainly does?

Hi Devon! I couldn’t help but chuckle at your video because this is my mantra and it’s so funny how people feel uncomfortable admitting or even acquiescing to their perfection! I am always telling my sons – ‘honey, thank you for being perfect’ or even at work – someone gets a report to me – I say ‘thanks, you’re perfect’ and very often I get a reaction back to the effect of ” I’m not perfect”. People are even bothered to a point because the concept of perfection has been distorted by the cultural or social element (ego). So being perfect gets associated to ‘doing the right thing always’ or behaving in such a way and conforming to certain beliefs and that’s not perfection at all.

Perfection – you are whole, you are fully equipped to live your experience. Say YES!

Dear Devon
Namaste
Please, answer to me personally I ‘d appreciate your time and attention. It is very important.
You are doing an importatn job although through Mind not Spirit- and I know- you understand the difference.
These are only ‘limiting’ words to explain/point the difference.

I am at the point where I hold the default – no matter what- even in a moment of dramatic and profound losses where most of the people would have nervous brakedown – with a reason.

What is happening is that , because of the inner bliss I hold – and in my case ocurred through spirituality – and was a spontaneous process- I am having difficulties/challanges to have a “material life”.
I have lost everything – a well traveled and educcataed woman that had a very comfortable life- and I do nto feel motivated by life in this “neurological and spiritually ignorant society”.

I speak six languages fluently – I grew up speaking French and Portuguese- for I am the child of a Brazilian mother and a French father. I thought it was “ironic” when you mentioned what muscles have to do to keep memory/performance on check for every linguistic learning… so you see the complexity of my intellect.
So in my case, did my neurology understood since conception that I need to be bilingual by age 3 ?

Sometimes I think I am about to become a Saint – I have no desires- honestly just like a “crosslegged guru in the Himalayas” and yet I have this Life here with its materials aspects to be addressed.

Would you be so kind to shed some Light on this personal status quo?
Much Gratitude to you and your passionate work.

I work as a volunteer with persons that are handicapped mentally and physically, one day while I was treating a girl who is particularly crippled, she asked me: “Why am I like this?” I didn’t hesitate to answer “Because your perfect”, the other person in the room looked at me with a puzzled look, so I had to explained in a way they would get it since this is a Christian facility, so I asked them “Do you believe in God?” Obviously they answered “Yes”, “Do you believe God is perfect?”, “Of course” they said…”Then, we as His creation, can not be less then PERFECT”…I don’t know why she is the way she is, or why things happen the way they happen, I don’t even practice any religion or have any specific belief but I’m sure all is perfect the way it is and I’m so glad to finally find people to believe this as much as I do…Thanks!

You make very clear the beautiful mantra offered by the Dalai Lama, “Practice what you want to keep.” Keep on your blessed path of blessing me and many others with your wisdom and strength. I would also like you to visit a Cuddle Party near you and see if you would recommend that integrated experience as a potentially good set of communication and boundary skills to put into practice getting our needs for kindness, compassion and affection met in a safe and wholesome way.

What My Higher self does, From my Default Self State of Being, is guide me perfectly to things like this! The first thing I did was download from Stacy’s go Gratitude..thanks Stacy for the years since the 1st wave which I particapated in! And subsiquint waves of Gratitude
Second is I began a loop on my computer of the Installing the inner game. Last night it played all night long…once in a while I’d wake up from sleep to hear Devon’s voice…then back to sleep…this went on til morning 6am pst….I was on the fence about whether I would go to a local UU fellowship meeting…desided to stay in “Just Be”..went and a wonderful time was had be myself..and all around me….the “doubt” in me that I desided to shuck off was totally error..it was coming in from a recent past event..around a person, and concern if this person would be there at the UU(Unitaran Universalist fellowship group). this person was not there…
I had a great teacher that told us more times over and over that there is no problem with which more meditation will not solve/disolve.”In your lingo there is no problem that will not disolve from active particapation in the Default state…..
I love De-fault…no fault….no blame…no victom script from old patterns no matter which lifetime….that is what this Default means to me..ya..I’ve been at this for about 20+ years and 40+ years of “Talk therapy” got tired of hearing myself explain over and over about 20 years ago..that put me on the Path of meditation and this teacher Barbara Mary Muhl..as well as Joel S. Goldsmith and Now thru Tibetan Teachers Rinpoche’s and Ramtha…now your,”Defaultness”…Devon White…thanks…sooo much
Here we go loop de loo…another tool that really just validates I’ve always been on the right track…now I don’t really give a rats rip what anyone else is doing or thinking esp! I do care very much for myself and oh how I love the/my ability to walk with Grace and Ease…This is a song that I wrote not long ago….it’s attch..enjoy! It’s very simple on the guitar goes from throat chakra, G, to Heart Chakra, F….I play the quartz crystal singing bowls everyday raising my Frequency Frequently…….thanks…Aloha Love Lili Hillis

Hi Devon,
I have recently purchased your program, but haven’t listened to it yet, as I would like to try to really understand what I’d be getting myself into, before i actually do it.
And here is my question, or concern that was triggered by this particular blog post:
You seem to be stressing the importance of not diving into your negative feelings, but rather concentrating on bringing yourself back to the “default” and not getting caught up in heady over processing of stuff, which is absolutely valid, but it also kind of feels like you are telling people not to feel their feelings…and please correct me, if I am misunderstanding something here.
I myself do healing work with people and a lot of my life’s journey has been dedicated to healing and empowerment of myself and others, or simply speaking, coming to and being in the “default” and to be honest with you, for me personally, one of the greatest triumphs in this journey and what actually allows me to be in the “default” as much of the time as I can, was to finally learn to feel my feelings when they come up and to really accept myself…it helped me finally be human, be vulnerable, be grounded and in my body, rather than constantly try to run away from myself.
So, what you’ve said here, is making me feel a bit confused, like there is something that I am missing and I would very much appreciate your thoughts on the subject.
Thank you,
Victoria

Thanks Devon for so graciously sharing the Inner Game.
It certainly is a more worldly way of describing and accessing our spirit (the breathe of life) for people that are not sure how they feel about God.
I had an awakening last summer ( I was asleep all my life!) and I think of it as looking through the eyes of the spirit. I check in as often as possible to see what is my spirit wants to do. I imagine looking through my minds eye which seems to activate my peripheral to a greater degree like you have described. The trick for me was to quiet down the chatter in my mind first to actually begin to hear and feel where the spirit wants to lead moment by moment.
This reminds me of the story of Jekyll and Hyde. Jekyll being the Default.. spirit side that is confident and sure, being in the Now and trusting life’s flow. Hyde on the other hand is too busy ‘doing’, trapped in the past or feared future, unsure and always trying to manipulate things to go his way. What duality we struggle with!
I commend you Devon for this gift you are giving for there is none better to receive for it is truly life changing. There is no limit to our Default state and the more time spent there, tuning in, the more we can begin to understand our life’s purpose and its meaning.
I’m glad you found yours!
With much love,
Sue S

Thank you so much for these videos. They are so helpful in clarifying and reminding. I am very new to using Inner Game, and I find I get something new out of it each time I do the meditations.

I am trying to become more sensitive to how “IT” feels in my body. I think I am accustomed to operating from my head and heart areas primarily, and to id something in my physical body is taking me a little longer. I am noticing progress there too, though, each time I meditate. How I breathe, where the muscles tighten and where they relax. The meditation is so incredibly helpful at directing me to paying attention to things I have not ordinarily been.

Thank you.

Hi Devon,

Thank you for today’s video and reminding me how much I really do prefer being in my default.

This is the first time I am writing, so If I have not thanked you before for the IIG experience, here’s a BIG THANK YOU, now. I believe that things fall into your lap when the need arises — or as you say, when one is so deeply out of alignment, that is the time when they must come back to themselves.

Having gone through a lengthy period of taking care of the affairs of an aging parent and feeling frazzled and spent and way off my game, I wasn’t surprised when IIG showed up. This unique and powerful experience was just what I needed to reel me back home, and has been a great benefit to help me regain the energy I need to complete the, seemingly endless, business at hand.

The idea of muscular memory and removing tensions that are imbedded in our nervous systems makes sense to me. Your system of reconnecting with how we were meant to grow and relying on what mother nature intended (the clean hard drive) is profound. I’m loving the audio/visual sensations. Both you and Kiela have soothing, yet stimulating, voices.

As I take your queue and close my inner eyes to go deeper to the biological source, eye lid by eyelid, I seek the P I, the Primal Instinct, the Pre-Intellect, the Personal Imprint, the Personally Identifiable information that can be used to uniquely identify or make contact with “my person”, the baseline of my default state.

I made a promise to myself to make a payment to you as soon as I receive a check from my recent tax return. Thank you for this gift. It does not go unappreciated.

With love and gratitude,
Lisa

I agree with you about being in tune with our bodies and following our bliss as Joseph Campbell advised. I’m currently working for an organic raw food company that has at it’s core a great intention of providing chemical-free food to it’s customers, but the management system is rife with problems, from logistics to loss of integrity on so many levels due to high stress caused by customer demands and an ill-equipped mgmt staff. Cut free or see the potential to make it work?

I think this is the same as “detachment” for me. I haven’t been able to see anything but this vid, because I use money for mortgage and cc pmts instead of allowing any for inner game just now… although, I think I am trying like heck to be in that default mode- detached from being stuck in programming that I received most of this incarnation… “default” seems to be in conflict with my programmed desire to own stuff… we work to pay for all this stuff, and don’t have any extra time/money for Inner game? sheesh. Part of me wants to go get a robe and a begging bowl and have done with working where I don’t like at what I don’t like with conservatives who I don’t share myself with. It’s tedious and I prefer my spirit. I just can’t figure out how to have both and be pleased. But I am pleased with the aware (default) me. Not pleased that I spend so much of my time serving the other…that fear-based creature who needs stuff. But would I be happy with a robe and a begging bowl… whose to say?
