Today’s post is in response to a comment from Andria (Thanks for the inspiration Andria – and I hope I pronounced your name correctly). The entire comment is posted below. Enjoy the video!
Here’s Andria’s comment in full:
Hi Devon!
I have more sporting news for you…Lately, it’s been all about the eyes for me. I realized that when I ski and mtb, I have predatory eyes, which are tight and focused. They help me cut though a crowd of skiers with precision (without scaring or cutting anyone off, of course). And when I mtb, I’m the mountain lion, locked onto her prey.
The other day, I had a gorgeous experience skiing. I was up high in the bowls, in and out of the trees, and away from the crowds, just taking in the big view I get with soft eyes. But, when I got down to mid-mountain, I suddenly felt disoriented. It appeared as if people were coming from every which way, I was unable to judge speed and direction, and my spatial awareness was shot. It was a trip, because I knew why it was happening, but I just stayed defaulted instead of tensing up about it, and laughed.
The weather was warmer the next day. I’m on my bike, on a snow packed single track that I navigate every spring to get to my house. The consistency of the snow is like a sno-cone, very thick and slippery, and if you fall off, you go sliding down the hill. Anyway, in my mind I hear you say, ‘Allow your eyes to go soft.’ Whoa. My whole body relaxed, I felt very lightweight, and my muscles actually reacted quicker than when they were tense. It was a feeling of being on balance, rather than constantly correcting imbalance.
What are some of your body-in-motion experiences?
Cheers and thanks again!

I’m tickled pink, Devon.
(And, yes, your pronunciation is spot on.)
I love that we’re talking about how to use this information while in motion. The Thinker didn’t get that body from sitting around in contemplation.
I’ve had more experiences since my post. The most eye opening ones (pun alert) have been those dealing with fear, which you touched on. It’s such a delicate, but crucial act to toggle from, “This could really hurt!” to, ” ” and just being on.
Truth be told, at first it actually saddened me to realize how much of my life I’d spent locked in my head. But, I didn’t cry into my granola for long. I soon started recalling many wonderful experiences in which I’d felt deeply connected. Now I’m able to do it with eyes wide open.
How fun!
Hi there Andria and Devon (and everybody!)
I started Aikido-lessons last week (and it’s so much fun, and also difficult to ‘let go of everything!’) Next training I will use the ’sleepy eyes’ way.. that will, hopefully, keep me awake.. I was so overfocused (and enthusiastic) that, after falling quite hard a few times, my muscles (and me!) became very tense.. and naturally I then fell even harder and now I have my arm in a sling!
Devon, you somewhere mentioned something about Keanu Reeves in the Matrix, having these kung fu lessons installed.. Is that programme already available?! I’d love to try it and become an Aikido-master, haha!
Haha! Hi Annemarie, you sound like you’re having fun!
Hello Annemarie and to the entire IIG community,
Along with a few others, I have been studying under Devon for a little over a year now. The work has caused a profound shift in me resulting in a positive career change, better relations with my parents and a wonderful and healthy relationship. This is precisely why I am so thrilled to see this community thriving and even more excited to watch and learn from everyone’s inevitable progression.
AnneMarie — as for your question regarding Aikido, I am right there with you! I’m waiting for a program to instantly install kung fu but alas, we just aren’t there yet
However, just because we can’t update like the Matrix does not mean that a program doesn’t exist to gain awesome Aikido skills!
Like you, I am currently studying a martial arts that places major emphasis on relaxation. As Devon mentioned in his video, it is from that relaxed structure, the Default, that we can react best and most precisely without having to think. Pretty useful skill for fighting, no wonder there is so much emphasis on it!
The technique that I have used to relieve tension in my body, sinker deeper into the Default and become a better martial artist (and an all around happier person) is called Zhan Zhuang. As described by my instructor:
Zhan Zhuang (“post standing” or “stake standing”) forms an integral part of traditional…Martial Arts. Zhan Zhuang encompasses ways to locate blockages within the body, developing awareness of different energy layers, as well as relaxation exercises to open those blockages and dynamic tension exercises to develop whole body power for combat purposes.
Whether our goal is peace of mind, health, or martial arts, recognizing and releasing our accumulated tension is essential.
In essence, Zhan Zhuang involves standing like a tree, with your arms in a ball. To give you a visual, have a look at this image: http://www.qigonghealth.co.uk/media/_14_1226504885.jpg.
In this position you are forced to deal with all of the tension your body has built up because you are standing in a fixed position. There is no getting away from the tension because you cannot move so eventually, your body has no choice but to simply relax. What has helped me surpass some of my other classmates is combining Installing Inner Game with this standing meditation. Using IIG puts my focus on the Default state and helps me alleviate the tension faster.
My suggestion is to ask your martial arts teacher how to do Zhan Zhuang, load up your Installing Inner Game CD and enjoy the benefits!
Hope this helps AnneMarie!
All my best,
Steven Perchikov
Hi Steven!
Thanks for your comments! I know ( I feel… I mean) this! I do these exercises. I learned it from a very dedicated student of Mantak Chia.
I am going to be Stephanie Seagal.. haha, without the violence!
Best regards from the Netherlands,
Annemarie
Hello Devon,
I have been using the inner game down load and I find that I am experiencing a very (as in VERRYYY) deep, and weepy, sad depression and hopelessness when I listen to it. I have stopped for now. As I attempt to unravel this experience, I realized that it may stem from all the references to being perfect in the womb and at the time of birth. In my particular case, my mother did the best she could, but from the time I was very young, there were a lot of very direct and specific messages coming at me that I was not a welcome addition to the family. My older brother and sister to this very day still harbor unfounded resentment about my birth…they are not fully conscious of it, but they continue to say the hurtful things that my mother said to me even now…I do not visit them very much needless to say…they live many states away. The story goes that Mom wanted to leave my father and then became pregnant (she allllwwwaayys told me…that I was my father’s idea and she had nothing to do with it…ah yes those lovely imprints…) anyway, she did not leave as a result of her pregancy with me. Now their marriage, although not perfect, did have better days ahead, they never divorced…they are deceased now,but my mother teetered on the edge of serious depression the whole time that I was an infant and into the time that I was around 3 or 4. At that time, she got a very interesting job out in the world…improved her self esteem…became a more available mom in some ways…although the pattern had been set up in my neurocognitive system. My very sweet and wonderful father always attempted to give me extra nurturing to compensate for her resentment of my existence…she did leave my father for a little while when I was a 2 year old or so…she left me with him and my sibs…SOOO this leads me to ask, what about someone who had this experience in the very beginning of their physical existence? All those references to being perfect in the womb produced feelings of extreme anxiety in me knowing how my mother experienced her pregnancy and my entrance to the world. Obviously, I have had some “attachment type” issues that I have worked on from a cognitive and emotional point of view, but, these extremely sad and hopeless feelings that come when I listen to the program are contained in a deeper place. If you met me, you would not likely sus this background out as I have done a lot of soul searching and work, but I remain curious about how to go through those anxious feelings to the other side and feel the “prefection” that you refer to …
I am asking from a mindfulness point of view…I have observed this dynamic arise…what do you suggest?
Thanks!
L
Hello L,
First of all, thank you for sharing this story. As Devon mentioned in the video, there is strength in vulnerability. Your relationship with Installing Inner Game is interesting and hopefully I can provide a bit of guidance.
The deep and weepy hopelessness that you feel when listening to Installing Inner Game is due to the metaphor of being perfect within the womb. This brings up painful memories for you. The whole purpose of that language is to bring the individual deeper into the default but due to the various events in your life it actually takes you away from the default, putting focus on your trauma rather than your at best state.
The beauty of this problem is that there is a simple solution. Do not listen to the tracks of Installing Inner Game that make you feel bad. That language does not work for you so simply stay away from it.
The good news is that there are many other ways for your to familiarize yourself with the Default state that do not involve those tracks. For example, use the tracks that do not feature this metaphor. When you have a sense of the Default, listen to the Elicit track so that you can fine tune this state and continue to access it. Practice softening your eyes. Or, fully recall a moment when you were at your best…in a total state of flow…where everything was perfect. The beauty of the Default is that this state is inherent to you and when you are in it, you know you’re perfect. The influence of parents, teachers or mass media simply fades away into white noise when compared to that internal sense of knowing. You are perfect and you will tap into it soon.
As an aside, in no way, shape or form do I want to trivialize the traumatic experiences of your upbringing. It will certainly take time and work in healing that pain. All I am suggesting is that the first step is the Default.
All my best,
Steve
As a further aside, after thinking about your situation a bit more, the more you heal the issues resulting from the trauma of your childhood the deeper you’ll be able to access the Default.
That is why I am suggesting a two-pronged approach. On one level, you want to know what it is like to be at your best and avoid thoughts and mindsets that take you out of it (e.g. metaphors relating to the womb). On another level, it is important to revisit those traumas and focus on healing them. This way, the next time you access the Default, you can access it even more fully and with a greater depth.
All my best,
Steve
Hey L,
I’ll be further addressing your points in an upcoming video. The experience you’re talking about is not unfamiliar to me and there are some simple and powerful work-arounds.
In the meantime, what Steven said is right on. The main point right now is simply to develop your ability to access that powerful generative state for yourself. You don’t need to do it in an areas that’s already highly charged in an inhibitory direction. I’ll help you tackle that in an upcoming video in the next week or so.
Best,
Devon

Just put in your zip code, and find a local right near you:
Thank you for sharing your story! It sounds like IIG will be very powerful for you! Keep listening! I would take it as a good sign that all of this stuff is coming up for you…only by allowing your body to experience it will you be able to break through into a deeper version of the Default! I would be highly wary of a) not listening to IIG or engaging in some form of relaxation and b) overanalyzing the story and pulling yourself out of the experience of your life. Continuing to set aside time to relax each day will bring you enormous health benefits, however you choose to do it…it may take in courage in the face of all of these pent up feelings, but the results will be enormous!
Also, I would make sure to remember that “resolution” of these past episodes is IN YOUR BODY, not in figuring out the story. You will know you have resolved the issue because your body will be able to stay relaxed, not because your mind understands where everything is coming from.
Focusing therapy could be a really great resource for you…just a suggestion

Right on again, Devon. Your presentation sounds really grounded in the seminal ground breaking work of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mihaly_Csikszentmihalyi who wrote the book on FLOW. Nicely presented.
Also do you realize any conscious connection in your work with Robert Pirsig’s Metaphysics of Quality written about in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance 1974 and Lila 1991. People who really like your stuff and want a deeper grounding to immerse and “be in” might appreciate these sources. Keep up the great work.
Hi Devon
I was stoked to get your vid , it brought lots of clarity, and I also wanted to thank you as I have had some amazing breakthroughs or lightbulbs .. with the eyes ..especially as I am riding my horse…it helps me be aware peripherally of what is in the vicinity so that I know already what my horse is picking up on .
Also your comment that when we are protecting ourselves we cannot connect to the perfection of Default…so those accidents, hurts and fear have set up a set of contractions which youre saying we get past by soft eyes physically and emotionally in order to re-establish the true Connection . .. is that right ?
Also your words ” and when the horizon is clear” .. I just love it .. I ride quite a lot by the sea and as soon as I see the meeting of sea/sky calm .. it is a picture I carry in myself to connect to Default. This also helps me to connect to my horses Inner and I am more aware of how she is feeling . ITs cool.
However I think one of the BIGgest things for me has been the understanding that came as a flash ( after goodness knows how many listening ins!!) .. that as a child I had absorbed the programme that the world was malevolent … and I no longer need to believe or allow that programme … the understanding that the world IS benevolent and that I am included in its nuture and support was/is HUGE for me .. and I am SO grateful Devon thank you zillions : )
with love
Sue
Hello Sue
I have been studying under Devon for a little over a year. His work gets better the longer that you stick with it, so I’m glad you are enjoying your progress!
You are correct: keeping your eyes soft will help you stay Connected. But remember: the Default and Connected states are whole body states. Soft eyes are just the beginning. When I soften my eyes, I notice the relaxation spread up through my forehead, along the roof of my scalp, then extending down into the base of my neck, down my spine, into my lower back…and it goes all the way down into the toes!
Which leads me to ask two important questions:
1) after you soften your eyes, what muscle softens next?
2) Your understanding that the world is benevolent is a signal being sent from your body to your brain…where in your body do you “know” that the world is benevolent? That part of your body will be your compass going forward.
Best
Chip
Hi Devon, I’d like to echo Andria’s comments regarding being in balance, although I’d like to add that I think you need to have been at the hard place first before you can go to the soft (sort of the ying and yang of things). I’ve studied martial arts, Okinawan karate actually, on and off for over 35 years and have on occasion reached that release. The release, or soft eyes, is where I think you become one with the universe in a sense, sort of active meditation. I can remember the first time at 17 when as a sho don (1st degree black belt), sparring with a much higher ranked karateka and everything went into slow motion and there was no thought, just reality coming into focus, such clarity, I reacted perfectly without thought to what was happening, yet with the knowledge of being guided. It was a life changing moment, one in which I realized for sure that we are connected to something bigger…
Hi Kay! Please explain to me “needing to be in the hard place first.”
I love how you said you reacted perfectly without thought to what was happening. It’s been more than skiing and mountain biking for me. When I caught a knife as it fell off the counter, I thought, “Now you have my attention.”
Hi Devon,
This is an awesome comment from Andria about the softer eyes to help with reflexes. I do not ski or take karate. Yoga and short walks are about as extreme as my exercise regime gets…lol. but I am finding that the “soft eyes” reminder helps with my LIE commute to and from work. I have found my self instinctively pulling myself into the default when I drive by remembering to soften my eyes. (Trust me i need quick reflexes on the LIE.) One thing Andria said that I want to share with you because it is kind of interesting. She said “in my mind I heard you say…” – that is true I was starting to hear your voice in my mind as well very often throughout the day and don’t get me wrong you have a lovely voice Devon but last week I began to think that I would like to take this deeper and hear these things in my own inner voice. So I created a little exercise for myself that is starting to work. When I am consciously installing and you say something that I feel a connection to, i repeat it to myself using my inner voice and changing the words “you” and “your” to” I” and “my” etc… Now I am hearing more of my own voice in my mind and less of Devon’s. And i am also regaining my default more and more quickly each time. I think using my own voice solidifies and deepens the changes inside. .. just a thought to share.
Also I want to tell L. that i also was rejected by my mother from the moment she found out she was pregnant (though on a more subliminal level maybe) and I too had a hard time with that area of the tape at first but I learned to push deeper past my mother’s first thoughts and responses toward me and pushed until i found the tiny lil self of who i am from the microscopic beginning cells. Before my Mother knew i existed … i existed. Even learned to reach into the DNA Blueprints created before I was in her womb. It was a trial to work through but try and focus more on who you are meant to be than who you were told to be. Please Don’t give up too quickly. Take it slowly and give yourself time and space between installs….The Inner Game installation is phenomenal on so many levels. It has helped to repair hundreds of errors for me. I would hate for anyone to miss a chance to learn and grow from it and I hope IIG helps everyone as much as it does me. …. I guess now I will have to try some more rigorous yoga and see if i can balance better……lol………….Thanks Devon…..perfect peace to all…rainey
When speak oout ‘I’ instead of listening to ‘You’ you make a really important energy switch because you proceed to state your INTENTION and ‘an intention’ is something the Universe loves hearing so it can start manifesting it! ‘Intention underlies everything’ (I learned this from the Grandmothers out of the book ‘A Call to Power: The Grandmothers Speak”) and that Rainey is what you are doing! Great work.
Jen
o wow! thanks Jen! i will definitely find that book sounds like a great read……..perfect peace…rainey
rainey…You’re all kinda wonderful, I enjoy your posts tons. I’ve been driving with soft eyes too! Thank you for your tips. I gave them a whirl, but doing that brought me back into my head. What’s working for me is hearing Devon’s suggestive voice (sometimes it sounds like Barry White), slipping in to my default, and then just noticing and feeling.
I also hear Kiela’s suggestions in my ears. I especially LUV the part about voice, as well as the moving images around part where she says, “Don’t try, just do it.” She and Yoda would get along famously. (Just in case I left you hanging on that one, a favorite line from Star Wars is, “Do, or do not. There is no ‘try.’”)
Hi Devon,
Question for you… after several installs, it still knocks me out completely. I still don’t know what is said during the middle because I’m in deep sleep. I feel wonderfully relaxed and I notice that I’m much more calmer, but should this be happening?
Hello Reyna
While you will still get a lot out of the experience by falling asleep (if it is pleasurable, then by all means continue…pleasure is what this stuff is all about!)…it is your body, or rather, your entire being, that is responding to Devon’s voice. Staying awake will give your body more time and space to open up into a new space. You never know: you could be falling asleep right before a muscle that you have been tensing your whole life is about to relax! Stay awake and see how far the rabbit hole goes…
Chip
Hey Rreyna,
I’m so thrilled to hear that you are calmer and feeling more relaxed. I love that you are getting benefits from the process. My advice to you would be to not limit yourself to falling asleep while listening to IIG.
When I first tuned into IIG, over a year ago now, my reaction was, “Holy smokes, this is what I’ve been trying to say and feel for quite some time now but I simply could not find the right words.” I put it on my IPOD and could not stop listening. I listened during my workouts, while I was meditating, before bed and during meals. What I found was that the more I listened, the more familiar I became with my Default. I found that I was able to access it deeper and in more aspects of my life.
Eventually, my day became extremely charged. When I work out now, I am in my Default because I listened to the tape and put my intention there. When I eat breakfast I am in the Default because I put my intention there too.
Keep experimenting with IIG and your Default state throughout all aspects of your day! Have fun with it and let us know of any benefits
All my best,
Steve
Ha, Ha,…., i HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE. i CAN’T STAY AWAKE AT ALL….AND i HAVE BEEN IN A DEEP DEPRESSION. i STILL CRAVE TO HEAR IT. mIGHT TRY JUST LISTENING TO THE MIDDLE TRACKS TONIGHT. aLSO, “SOFT EYE” IS NOT A NEW CONCEPT IN THE WOLRD OF BODY WORK. iN rOSEN mETHOD WE USE A “SOFT EYE” TO WATCH THE SUBTLE MUSCLE CHANGES IN THE BODY AS IT RELAXES…..woops sorry for the print……Useing soft eye technique is great for doing Yoga as well. People often bug their eyes out when doing certain poses. Learning to do the poses with a soft eye is a good way to go deeper into your body. Wonderful conversation!!!!
Mucho Gracias,
Heather
Hi Devon, I can hardly wait to try out the IIG at softball this summer
Make it a super day/night!
Hi Devon,
Ive been accessing my Default state since last summer and at the same time Ive completly stopped watching TV for 9 mo’s now.
Ive said many times that Ive had a sense of better peripheral vision, noticing so many more the things that I had been missing in the past. Its like Im noticing the things that have been set in place for me to notice that are there to guide me on this journey in life.
Anyway.. After listening to your video on relaxing your eyes.. I realized why I was having so much trouble focusing in on ‘Alice in Wonderland’ at the theatre a couple of weeks ago. When the movie started I couldnt seem to ignore my surrounding and zoom in on the characters. It really took quite an effort to focus in and get my brain to work to listen to the characters only and to let go of the sensations of my surroundings. It really was more than just my physical surroundings, the people in the theatre and the room itself that I needed to pull away from. I also had to let go of my sense of the whole theatre, the parking lot, my car, the town I was in..etc. The only way to decribe the feeling best is to say that in the Default state there is a sense of great knowing that feels like we are seeing..but when forced to focus in like a predator like Andrea describes, it makes it so apparent our peripheral vision is really more than just the physical sight of the eyes.. Its our true essence that radiates out, that knows, that brings information back to us in the form of images that feel like they are being seen!
Wow Devon.. I really do commend you for what you are doing here. Not only are helping people to tap in to their perfected state of being but your also helping those who have been tapping in, to see the magnitude of what is transpiring to make sense of the the true greatness of it!
Thank you for bringing more light and understanding into my life!
Sue S
Thank you so much for your vid blog’s. I find them fascinating. I did not homeschool my kids who are older now but I understand more now why some homeschool philosophy is to not start kids reading at such a young age…
I would love to have a print of the image behind you as I am an axiatonal alignment practitioner and I would love to show my clients that. Anybody know where I can get one and/or what the title is?
Namaste all of you
JMC – I believe the picture behind Devon is a portion of the picture “Theologue” by artist Alex Grey. His work can be found at http://www.alexgrey.com/shop/ints.html as well as several other places. I have several of his art books – they are mesmerizing!
His website is great, but what blew me over was seeing his art work at Bates College’s Olin Arts a while back…omg! I felt my self truly in the moment and present with the energy of the art. I wenr back more than a few times to show others about it.
Thanks Roberta and Jo
Hi Devon
I am really enjoying inner game, have been using it daily for the last 6 days now, getting more from each ‘install’. As I was watching this helpful video, I relaxed my eyes, and went into the default state, I know this because my body was tingling, alive. I know that everyone has their own experience of the default state, but for me, those moments of ‘everything is possible’ where I feel I could just spread my wings and fly, are accompanied by tingling feelings, almost like an adrenaline surge, but not quite?.
Synchronistically, I am installing inner game, whilst reading ‘Secrets of the Soul” – http://www.horuscentre.org/library/Carlo/Secrets_of_the_Soul.pdf – where the clean slate / default state you refer to is known there as the ‘Person in Formation’. That information helps me to ground the default state with that most important aspect of my soul/being.
Thank you so much for this Devon.
Hello Steve
A relaxed, charged energy is what I have experienced in response to Devon’s work as well. It sounds like you are following the path! The more you listen to his tapes, the more the parts of your body will “wake up” to feel how good it is to be alive. IIG does not just work right after listening…it continues to operate in your body for days after a session so enjoy surprising bouts of relaxation throughout your day! Glad to hear you are enjoying letting go….
Chip
Devon and other ‘innergamers’ -
I have listened to the inner game in its entirety a few times now and have read the manual, but I’m having issues (like others) in finishing the install without seeming to be ‘worse off’ than when I started. (I know that this isn’t the case, I’m just unwrapping more layers of the onion/spiraling deeper…but my brain tries to convince me otherwise.) The soft eyes is very helpful for me, as are many of the exercises. However, it seems to aggrivate a recuring injury in my SI joint which is temporarily allievated by, but not completely addressed by yoga, reiki, chiropractic adjustments or 4 months of therapy which ended when the PT told me my pelvis was “chronically unstable” and there was nothing more they could do. Somewhere around track 7 my SI joint starts aching and by track 8 I am in extreme pain and unable to relax to really take in the end of the install. I have tried sitting, lying, and combinations – all in positions which allow my SI joint to remain stable, but something in the install is triggering the reaction not unlike others mentioned above that completely unfocus me from the waist down. I recognize through my energy work that I often have energy cysts there but I haven’t been able to put a finger on what the underlying cause is. Any suggestions of how I might continue? Thanks for all the great work you’re doing!!!
Hi Roberta.
I have some SI-experiences myself. They are not connected with IIG though, but maybe my experiences can be of help to you.
I have been told same thing about the “unstable SI-joints” though this has never been a problem in my life untill these past 2,5 years. No other joints are unstable.
What I have found out is, that when we are doing inner work and get to the serious grounding into who we are, into our core being and body, this can affect the SI-joints making them unstable. Basically the joints are finding back into it´s right original positions again and in order to do that it has to flip-flop back and forth for a period of time.
The SI-joints are in the region of the 1st energy-chakra. This first chakra adresses who we are, our identity, our level of being grounded into our body and how we have grounded, how we are coping in life. Most ppl have something to deal with in this area.
A core issue for this 1st chakra and joint-challenge is letting go of control – control is tension, tightness, holding on, not allwoing the flow. The opposite is floppy, loose, etc. For the SI-joint to find balance, it has to go into the opposite of control: flippety-flop loose. Then it will step by step find it´s way back into “the middle”, the original balanced place. In all balancing in life, opposites will have to be experienced to some extend.
During this joint-balancing, unstableness can be triggered if we try to regain or stay in control in unconsciouss fear of letting go. And IIG is exactly teaching us to let go of control…
I still have periods of well-being and flippety-flop, but for each period I am getting even closer to the balance point. And my awareness grows for each time.
I don´t know if this is of any help for you. It is my own experience though.
All my Best
Sanne from Denmark
PS. When we have a “let-go-of-control-period”, loose joints will occur and the a period of balance and ok joints. And then some more letting go and then even more balance.
Hi Roberta
Focus on the parts of your body that feel really good. Parts, muscles, bones that are in a relaxed state. The cells there will then influence the cells in and near the SI-joint.. it’s the health virus.
I’ve had pain in my shoulder and collar bone for about 2 years. With body- and energy work I used to do, it went away a bit, but always came back (probably because it had something to do with my way of thinking about it). Then I fell on my shoulder during Aikido, last Sunday, and I could not even get my shirt on and off last Monday. (My husband had to help me undressing, that was really nice, though!)
Been doing the Installs three times a day this week and focused on my health, on the power of my cells to recuperate. My shoulder and collar bone are recovering now. It feels really different.
It’s amazing what your body can do when you focus on your own perfection and body wisdom.
Good luck!!
Sometimes, Roberta, just allowing the pain to manifest will work for you, not against you. You might also try acupressure or acupuncture to release the block. This is merely a suggestion. It has worked for me some of the time. Blessings, Jo
Thank you Devon!
I have done the install 6 or 7 times now. I was so thankful for your blog yesterday. Yes, I am finding I am preferring the default state. I am happy to be getting aquainted with it. I have come to realize I have been there many many times, I just didn’t realize it. You are awesome and I appreciate your energy and all that you are. For me this is confirmation that I am not in the least bit crazy, though the world around me would have me think so. I am perfect! All of us are perfect. I am getting to know this now and it’s with your help I can honestly say, I love it! I love life! I see so much more now. I am in touch with me. Now, that’s a biggy!
My life has changed in a majorly big way. I am now recognizing the feeling of love and light and for me that’s fun, because for years I have given this out, always and now I am understanding what I have been doing and it feels awesome.
I see how we run programs and I am recognizing them. Didn’t realize how asleep I was. Years and years of work, and you sum it up perfectly for me. You’ve given me a key I’ve been looking for to open that wonderful door that leads to the perfect me and the world where now I can consciously create more of the beauty and love I wish to create. You’ve helped me with realizing my life purpose and that is priceless.
Thank you.
Love and Light,
Peg
Hey Peg,
Wow — I am getting a charge just from reading this post! I am thrilled that you are thrilled. Please keep the updates coming!
Love and Light Back At You,
Steve
Who else watched this video again just to hear Devon say “kittens”?
lol…. i actually dreamed about kittens last night….. kept thinking all day why were those kittens in my dream? ….. as far as the voice goes Devon and Keila both have perfect voices for this work and i agree about the “Dont try just do it!” ………perfect
Devon…In context of some of the input about being unwanted from birth..I was THE Queen of this type of programming drama..WAS…is the operative word…Thru many meditations and being led to a great teacher that taught us that we must come to realize that in our perfection we did it all….have done it all..and will continue to do it all..what changes is perspective…There is a great well documented technique Called Ho O PonoPono a Hawiian Kahuna Method that places the resoincibility squarely on Our Perfect shoulders …this story can be found on the internet. It comes from the standpoint of Oneness. From that viewpoint things begin to take on a very different Non-Victim View…We have done it all..we have been the Raped, and The Rapist, the murdered and the murderer..on the negitive side..we have also been the Hero, and couragous Being in many of Our infinite life/s…It does not matter which part of Duality you choose..if duality is the choice the default state of being cannot be accessed….I love my Mother and Father they were and are my great lesson givers….IF you heard my human story you would be a cryin’ for lifetimes…I have made it passed all the historyonics into My Default Being due to a willingness to Surrender to Higher Princapals…that does not come at a “Cheap Price.” I’ve been to some of the greatest Teachers in this diminsion and found when I paid for my Spiritual Devlopment and was willing to place that above any need to be right..The return was Vast! and Freeing…..Nuff for now….I”m only one women that has been out of Default , and experience it more and more. when I came to your work I had done many years 40+ Talk therapy, and a mirod of other roup activities. It was only when I accepted FULL responibility for my Infifnte Life and forgave myself that I can say these things…The forgiveness is key…I wrote the Karmic Script out of ignorance and my parents did the same thing and on back into all of human history..so Ignorance is…we just didn’t know better….BUt that means if I wrote that kind of Script I have the power and ability to write any kind of Divine Drama I wish..that is empowering! The buck has to stop some where with someone in their DNA coded family circle..For me and my little group(9 brothers one sister) It was me…They still act toward me like I’m some sort of freak.. I realized from my default state that they have not forgiven themselves..they would have to admit they’re part in their unkindness..and that is not a thing that “Programmed Humans can do” they will defend their “Right” to bury it..and we must let them..since that is exactly what we are doing with Installing The Inner Game unplugging with a higher understanding…ALL that Crap/Illusion/baggage was never who we were or are in the 1st place! Lili,
Thank you for sharing this. It sounds like you are a fighter with a take no prisoners attitude towards your evolution.
I would like to expand a bit on two particularly interesting aspects of your message. First is the idea of a victim vs. non-victim mentality. It is precisely because you have chosen to not feel sorry for yourself and woe your lot in life that you have been able to persevere and become successful. When choosing beliefs, the belief that “I am a survivor and a fighter” is ALWAYS MORE USEFUL THEN “I am a victim.”
For example, I had visited Israel last year and went to Yad Vashem (Israel’s Holocaust Museum). The entire theme of the museum consisted of all the horrors and evils of the Holocaust. Needless to say, the entire group I had been with left in tears, with an overwhelming sense of “Why us?”
There is no doubt in our minds that the Holocaust is one of the worst atrocities in human history but just once I’d like to see a museum related to Jewish history with an emphasis on the people’s ability to bounce back from adversity. A museum that leaves a Jew feeling powerful, proud and strong. I know I don’t need to tell you Lili how different these two scenario’s play out in an individual or group psyche.
The other concept that you mentioned is the idea of your siblings need to be right. One of the first things I had ever heard Devon say is that the majority of people would rather be right then to let love in. These words have left an incredibly powerful impact on me. Since hearing them I have noticed just how many of my arguments have been about getting the upper hand and winning. I had never realized that extremely petty arguments such as who’s turn it is to take out the trash or plans for the evening were not opportunities for dispute but rather opportunities for deeper connection.
Lili, I hope I didn’t bore you silly with my tangents. All I am really trying to say is I love your attitude and mentality. Keep rocking out and keep us updated!
All my best,
Steve
Hi Devon
In the yoga sutras of Pantajali there is a technic called samyamah, also called the bestower of union, & basically what you are here offering so plainly & easy Is this technic, it is to be aware of Space within & without & having a tiny bit of awareness on the rest of the world to function into it but not totally lost in it &&& recognizing this presence in all & everything. It has been described in almost all old traditions, it comes after satori/nirvana samadhi, which is the state of being totally consciously present/alert/awake.
This is just amazing for me to experience what i have learned & trained my self for years (i was a monk & teached a form of meditation leading to this state) again & anew with your way of putting it so easy naturally & practically.
Because as you remind constantly it Is our natural way of functioning/of Being when not distracted by all the wrong learning/habits/distortions etc,…
All the ways come back to Source, to God, to conscious Presence, whatever words we want to use here, & your way is very accessible to any one with openness enough to try & feel it & experience the difference for themselves….
I really think that all those old traditions had all something good & true to share with all of us, but because of ‘times’ & really stuck energies then, humans were not capable of getting it & the teachings were also mystical difficult of access for most, & now living in the most Open times ever, You make all that finally easy to get for anyone tired of trying/achieving/mastering/getting/taking/ straining but reaching for that State that we are all born with & which is natural for us, easy, simple, flowing, giving, playfull, creative, joyfull, uniting, etc…
I also see that men & women have different ways of focusing, women being more difuse in their awareness, men more onepointed, it helps both to maintain that connection within & in the same time staying open for the Whole!
Thank you, thank you , THANK YOU!
Your contribution to help mankind is tremendous.
It really does make a HUGE difference to have a constant connection to Oneself within especially directly to the physical body, it is very easy to flow away from it, for whatever reason, but i see it as our main task now for the human race to consciously welcome the Divine Intelligence through the Physical back to Earth to finaly live here as we are all meant to live, happy, harmoniously, peacefully, playfully, together, consciously, & co creating the Life we all long for.
Thank you <3
Veronica
Hey Veronica,
I think it is tremendous that you are getting such benefit from this work, especially with the amount of experience that you have.
You touched upon one of my favorite aspects of the HOS in your comment and that is its accessibility. We are extremely fortunate to benefit from the mystical traditions of times past but in many ways, they simply are outdated. It is just much easier and more powerful to say, there are a few states you want to live in. One is called Default and the other Connect. When they fluctuate a third state appears and it is called Purpose. In this model’s simplicity lays it’s power.
I also find the language of the HOS more accessible. Unfortunately, when we use terminology like “chakra” “luminous beings” or “spiritual” an entire segment of the population gets turned off. These words create aversion in them. They may have a great sense of spirituality yet cannot relate because they do not call it that. By using the language of the HOS (which is much more like the language we use everyday) the possibility for growth and enhanced consciousness is extended to an entire segment of the population that may have scoffed at it otherwise.
We are fortunate for the wisdom of the past. We are also fortunate that nature’s logic is to progress and update. Thanks again for your comment!
All my best,
Steve
In my meditation training i learned that we loose 80% of our energy through the eyes
and I would agree especially when our eyes are focus or concentrate, as you very well described it then the energy goes outside looking for something
if my eyes are soft my vision is then allowing me to also see myself than i receive and gather energy,i am more in touch with my ressenti
in meditation this is an important insight as just closing the eyes helps to feel it and slowly we can walk, talk, danse, eat, live that way,it is as you call it the Zone very refreshing and energising brings awareness into the here and now, into the body taking a break from the mind
thanks you for post
I am still enjoying innergame mostly during the night and I get more of it everytime
love and blessings

IT IS NO WONDER SOMETIMES HOW ROBOTIC WE ARE….Oops! Sorry about the caps…I recently got tested for my eyes and through muscle testing and personal questions mostly, I got to a place where now I feel more than I think now. Thank you Universe…and this inner game stuff is just what I needed to be my Self. Oh, I still have a long way to go, but at least now I can really see what’s going on. It isn’t all pretty, but with the tools I’ve received, now I can be me in a big way….more later. Namaste, Jo
Dev~on!
Thank you for gathering us on the telephone last night.
May your expectations continue to be exceeded…
Yes. I agree with Andria. It’s great that there will be additional opportunities to deepen, to expand and to explore the application further in five domains that many want to explore.
I love how the foundation is simple enough and large enough to hold all of those domains and beyond. Life and the wonderful state of being alive is and is becoming more with IIG.
Best,
T
Hello Devon and all Innergamers!
Thank you so much for all of this information and insight. I love the way it is presented, not all squishy and mystic, but scientific and edgy. As a massage therapist, I see people who are holding on to their “stuff” in their bodies. Many of them realize it, but don’t even know where to start. You have given me some language to use with them that is not threatening in a spiritual sense (I’m in the Bible Belt). I can’t wait to start using soft eyes with them.
“L” I was glad you had the courage to share your story, thank you. It got me thinking, about having really disconnected from my body because of childhood trauma (the beatings). At least I guess that is what it is. When I have been installing, I have trouble with what my body feels like. My attention goes to my energy fields/chakras/hara line, but not my muscles.
I don’t know if anyone else is having this issue, Devon I’ve heard you talk about excersise to help get you in your body. Any other suggestions?
Thank you, Donata
Hi Donata,
Here are some practices from other somatic traditions that may help you deepen and more fully experience the body in the muscles, sensations, temperature, etc.
One would be during your effort at accessing your Default you could add a body scan where you bring your attention to your whole body…to your feet, to your legs, to the hips, to the diaphram, to the shoulders, neck, head, etc.
If you feel some contraction or what you may label as fear/trauma you can contain or compress the muscles and then release them.
The other practice may be to go through each and every muscle and feel into it, make contact with it and deepen your experience of it.
I would also encourage having a full representation of an experience of fully feeling every musclce and expecting that before you enter the IIG experience.
Let me know if this lands for you and is helpful,
Best,
T
Thanks T. This is going to take a LOT of practice (some journey). I’m using your muscle contraction technique with some sucess. EVERYTHING is just tense, and I’m guessing has been for longer than I would like to admit. I’m really learning me for the first time, and I’m hoping it will help me have better spatial awareness (less bruises from running into stuff). I will go be at rest with my cat for awhile now. It’s just purrrfect! – Donata
Hey Donata,
One of the orientations or biases in this work is to go with what works. How do you access your Default while with your cat? How do you come fully to rest inside of yourself to be totally present, aware and connected to your kitty?
I would also track what is easy, fun, fascinating, and getting ever more available about how you access the Default?
Purrring while accessing your Default may be something else to try:)
Best,
T
Kitty Magic – I just hold George to my chest, he is purring, it’s all heart. And if I were typing this yesterday morning, that is where it would stay. Now I am forcing my attention elsewhere after getting in that heart energy state. It doesn’t completely get me to my default, but it certainly jolts me out of my head. Gads – I’ve been doing this backwards for a long time.
Hi,
Kitty Magic….sounds purrrrrfect. How about a more of surrender orientation as oppose to forcing the attention. Can you share now what the forward direction is for you? What new way will you unfold? How will this bring more ease and possibility? How does the insight of shifting from doing it “backwards” to “forward” feel and how specifically will you do this?
Best,
T
Donata,
I’m captivated by your comments and T’s responses.
Kitties! When George purrs, he just is. Everything about him is soft: his eyes, his body, so he just feels and connects. Let yourself purr into what you felt like before, before, before.
All the Best to you and George…
Hmm – surrender. I suppose I do go into surrender, but I tend to go “out” to my happy space, not aware of my body. Perhaps forcing is a strong word, but if the point of this excersise is to be aware of my body then at least in the beginning, I am having to force my attention to my body. I am changing a habit. That being said, the landmarks are there – the breathing slows, I reside somewhere in my abdomen (it shifts around).
I’ve no idea how this will unfold. But I want to stand in my personal power. I’ve gotten glimpses of it, and have let it get kicked aside when the “be nice” tape turns on. I want to stand in my power and hold on to it in a way that doesn’t make people perceive me as angry.
For the last several years I’ve been getting this message from various sources about living the good, bad, and ugly of life as opposed to running away to a monestary and meditating all the time. I’m searching for the balance in all this. My backwards was escaping outwards. Forwards is not escaping, its just being, and that being ok.
Andria! Thank you for the way to go deeper, and deeper. The letting go. Practicing again and again.
Peace to you all, Donata
Hi,
This brings up the point of semantics and meaning. Force has so much of an individual meaning hence I think trust one’s self and what works is a useful reference. The undoing of habit or that which is on top of Default is an unlearning.
The landmarks do seem to point in the direction of accessing you Default. Yaaaay for you. There’s depth, sustainability and ease that become the markers of heading in the direction of mastery.
Yes staying in your personal power is such a central orienting point of this work. The be nice is such a message of our society. It reminds me of the NVC book Don’t be Nice be Real. The don’t be nice message is definitely in the direction of the inhibitory so noticing the shift in the somatic structure is useful once the Default has been experienced deeply, clearly and specifically.
I look forward to you postings of success and experience. From another somatic lineage there’s the following saying: You are what you practice, you are always practicing and it’s impossible not to practice. Hence, choose what you want to practice.
Best,
T-practice
