Kiela
Kiela Kern is the composer and sound designer responsible for the beats, rhythms, samples and soundscapes on Installing Inner Game. In addition to IIG, Kiela’s lifelong affair with music has placed her in such diverse contexts as the frontman of a rockabilly band, an injector of dubstep and glitch hop, and a crooner of sacred sounds collaborating with artists from a wide spectrum of faiths and nations.
Core to all of her endeavors, Kiela is a student of radical evolution. The music you hear on Installing Inner Game is one note in the symphony of her life – a life that reverberates in every client, friend and student she touches. While traditional business wisdom teaches us (correctly) to focus on the one thing at which we are best, Kiela’s one thing is a feeling. Every company she runs, every note she harmonizes, every dog to which she whispers, every client whose life she revolutionizes knows that feeling – it’s the feeling of the full-court press to Shangri-La.

Ha-ha! So happy to return those lil guys back to you
there must be something wrong with me, I found the music very irritating and discordant, quite annoying but played through it.
The double voice over was also quite annoying
infact I didnt get to the end.
I think I prefer silence to all this new age jazz type noise
sorry its not for me.
Jean,
I think this version is more like a Beta version, and we new users are the Beta site. If you’ve ever listened to Neuro Linguistics Programming tapes, they are very soothing because of the voice and music modulations. Inner Game could certainly be improved along these lines, so it more effectively moves one into a self-hypnotic state of absorption. Meditation sessions with chanting also do the same thing really, moving the brain into a higher state of consciousness and the body into a non-interfering entity. The voices and music could be a little more mellow and professionally modulated (there’s a whole technique to it in NLP) to achieve that…in my humble opinion from a knowledge and experience base.
Hi Pepper,
While Installing Inner Game is a first run for Kiela and me it’s not a Beta product.
While I love what Richard Bandler and Denver Clay did in the Neurosonics Personal Enhancement Series – Installing Inner Game was not meant to be that.
Richard has a few others he’s done which I like but again – this is not that.
Much of the cacophony in IIG was intentional and was designed with very specific intentions. A lot of what we were doing was intentionally keeping people from falling asleep (which many are still doing) and forcing people to stay awake and aware for as much of the installation as possible.
All that said, I appreciate your experienced opinion. While we have both the skills and techniques to modulate the voices and music, your feedback is useful. More mellow I understand and future versions of the software will have some extremely mellow sections. Some are even being designed to put people right out
Thanks for the feedback,
Devon
Jean,
Dang! I can’t stand that New Age Jazz stuff either! I would certainly stand next to you on the quiet side of the room! I doubt there’s anything wrong with you, though. You might just not like it, which is an awesome thing to be able to know.
Oh well! Back to the studio!
Best,
Kiela
Hey Pepper,
You know, it’s a funny thing, music. We either like it or we don’t. I personally have a pretty strong somatic reaction to music I don’t like. I also actively listen to and compose in a wide range of genres. If I don’t like something it’s usually because it’s not inspired or because the execution has no heart.
I can absolutely respect aesthetic preference. If you want to discuss the technical aspects of bringing a project like this to life, please be more specific. I too know much of the work that has been released in the NLP community and know and use the biosonic and psychoacoustic technologies that are being used. In reality, the product you are listening to marks some new directions in the field, while including some of the same strategies used in the products already available.
Were you displeased with the impact or experience you had of a particular effect? Did you find the binaurals disorienting? You’re right in noting that not all of the music is soothing. I wasn’t trying to make people feel good in every moment of the experience, per se. I was using sound to create the container for them to feel something different than what they already know. Sometimes, in our work that can mean accessing experiences that can be temporarily uncomfortable, as in yoga, for instance. Pulling away the curtain for a moment, I can tell you that there are things in there that are not meant to be warm and fuzzy at all. Specifically, I like the idea that some of the soundscapes create an interesting discomfort that resolves if you let yourself go for the ride. Also, I think Devon addressed this in another post, but it’s relevance bears restating. Much of what you hear in Inner Game is designed to work with some aspects of your experience, particularly the lower chakra’s, in a way that’s different from a lot of other work that’s currently available. This is quite intentional. I want value for my time investment, which for me means moving forward with my personal work. I want growth and that means working ahead of what I have already done.

PS If you have any suggestions on how we could improve the sonic experience for listeners or want to discuss the technical aspects in more detail, I am totally open to anything you have to offer. Please continue to give any feedback you feel is useful. We look forward to your contributions.
I want to think for a day or two to decide on the 97.00 thing. I want to talk to my daughter about it too. She may want to do it. i just heard the teleconference and that was good but I want time. Do I have to decide right now? If so, I might not do it.
Hey Kathleen,
We don’t go live until Tuesday night 6pm Pacific time. You don’t need to decide until a little before then.
Best,
Devon
Heya Kiela,
I still listen to the long version of Innergame….your awesome energy flows through and lifts the spirit……thank you

Hi,
When I first listened to the IIG I loved the language and the music. The music in particular met me and touched my primal deeper essence. There’s a direct contact and communion with the music that the reptilian, animal, primal, ever so direct and deep self engages with.
I would even like more intensity and more direct communication with that which is the deepest of me. Keep that artistry, technical expertise and direct experience informing your musicalconectionandpull….of the primal.
I look forward to what’s beyond my experience so that I can update, install and move forward in an essential, new and yet unexperienced way.
Best and LLOVE,
T
Hello Devon/ Kiela.
I know it’s past signup for the 5 teleconferences. I couldn’t be there for all of them, but I wanted to know if you will be making the recordings and IIG2 available after the fact for people who did not sign up for the live ones, and what the fee for that might be.
thanks,
Lisa
YES ! KIELA~
